Cenotaph London

Cenotaph, London

The Cenotaph was designed by Edwin Lutyens and was initially just a temporary saluting base in Whitehall. It proved so popular that a new, more permanent  version was commissioned. Annual ceremonies of remembrance attended by key members of the Royal family, the armed forces and parliament have taken place there every year since 1921.
