Blockhead – a 115ft tall sculpture at Tate Modern by Paul Mccarthy

Blockhead sculpture Tate Modern by Paul McCarthy.

On display until October 26th 2003 ‘Blockhead’ stands 115ft tall. Designed by American artist Paul McCarthy inside its bulk is a steel frame _ and a place where you could buy black sticks of rock inscribed with ‘Blockhead’ for three pounds fifty! Loosely based on Pinocchio the sculpture sits on a pile of books and has the elongated nose you would expect.
