Egham M25 Bridge Staines River Thames

M25 Runnymede Road Bridge over the River Thames, near Egham / Staines

Carrying six lanes of motorway traffic over the River Thames the Runnymede M25 Road Bridge lies between Staines and Egham. It is adjacent to the earlier Lutyens designed A30 road bridge with its spans mirroring the shape of its predecessor. With the two bridges covering such a large expanse of the Thames Path underneath it was designed with the idea of light shafts between the concrete frames to alleviate the gloom below.
