Banksy, London street art, punk, London photography by Steve Cotton

Dreph graffiti, Brick Lane

Dreph / Shok1 graffiti, mural Brick Lane 2003

The day before this painting was started there were reports that arrests had been made of suspected ‘terrorists’ who were intending to attack the London Underground with chemical weapons. This is the right side of the piece and is a depiction of such an attack. The painting is about the government’s manipulation of the emotions of the people to justify military action, regardless of how real such threats are.
