Bibendum Michelin Man Window
Bibendum – Michelin Man Window
Bibendum, the world famous Michelin Tyre Company Man, appearing in the stained glass window on the front of the Bibendum building in South Kensington, West London. The Michelin Man first appeared in an advertising poster in 1898 and is still in use today making it one of the longest lasting trademarks ever. The original image of the man depicted him as being made out of bicycle tyres but more recent versions have seen these thicken up to look more like road tyres. The version in this window is directly based on the original ‘Nunc est Bibendum’ poster (“Now is the time to drink”)
