London Underground Roundel sign – Edward Johnston.  

The London Underground roundel is famous throughout the world. Since its first incarnation appeared in 1908 it has gone through many redesigns. This variant commissioned by Frank Pick and designed by typographer Edward Johnston first appeared in 1917 and is still visible at a number of locations on the network even today.
