The Damned & The Dickies

No proper photos this time, just a snap of the venue ‘cos it’s a pretty amazing place. Built as a railway engine shed in 1847 where the turntable once stood in the centre of the building is now a large open expanse full of old punks and a smattering of goths.

As for the gig – enjoyed the Dickies despite them having a sound like bashing panels in an aircraft hangar – is this something you often get in this venue with its cavernous roof? The Damned were excellent playing a great mix from over the years with of course Neat, Neat, Neat and Smash It Up being constant faves. Great to see Captain Sensible on form, even sneaking in a line of ‘Happy Talk’ when Dave Vanian was looking the other way!
