Wet Leg at Circuit, Kingston
Wet Leg, Circuit, Kingston – Monday 1st December 2025
Wet Leg have always defied expectations. After their breakthrough hit ‘Chaise Longue’ became a lockdown favourite the cynics thought it was a fluke. And then they hit the mark again and again with more singles and then an album that proved they were not a one trick pony. Tonight was all about their second album, ‘Moisturizer’, where they’ve shaken everything up again and returned with a trio of new instant favourites, all aired tonight, each capable of being a set closer.
They arrive on stage, shrouded in darkness, backlit and in a sea of dry ice. Singer / guitarist Rhian Teesdale is in a fake fur coat and hot pants, throwing athletic shapes as they launch into ‘Catch These Fists’. It’s a perfect example of the juxtaposition of styles that are present in their songs. Quirky and yet with menace but also a humour in the knowing adoption of a well known meme phrase, there is really no one else who can do what they encapsulate right now.

Whilst all the focus is on Teesdale and fellow guitarist Hester Chambers, it’s the rhythm section that really propels these songs along. ‘CPR’, and ‘Chaise Longue’ have the kicking drums and smooth bass that sets the pace that complements the quirky lyrics and clever word play. Set closer ‘Mange Tout’ typifies this, with the vegetable making a hidden appearance in the chorus ‘Oh, MAN, I hope you’re gonna GET OUT soon. Does anyone seriously doubt that album three is going to amazing too?
