Banksy – Rat with 3d glasses on canvas

Banksy Rat with 3d glasses at Marks and Stencils 2010, London  There were several Banksy works on display including this rat wearing 3d glasses on canvas, framed in wooden frame with a fake fly on the side of the work.

A street version of a similar rat appeared on the side of the Egyptian Theatre in Park City, Utah in January 2010, ahead of the release of Banksy’s film ‘Exit Through The Gift Shop’ at the Sundance Festival that year. The Theatre later launched a ‘Save Our Banksy’ campaign to preserve their version of ‘Dirty Rat; saying at the time “We being artists ourselves, understand artistic integrity and decided not to sell the work, but to keep it in Park City as it was intended to be enjoyed. A large donation or two, along with thousands of small donations will allow us to both ‘Save Our Banksy,’ and hopefully help us find a new home for our children’s programs.”
