Andipa Banksy Show
First off to avoid any confusion this is not a show by Banksy. It is instead a gallery that has brought together for sale a fair amount of Banksy canvases and screenprints. The gallery has been operation since 1593 and is located in Knightsbridge, London. The prices match the location. All the same the gallery were cool about photos being takenĀ as long as you ask and don’t use a flash. So you can treat it like an exhibition if you want and ignore the prices. I stopped worrying about prices a while ago when I realised that I don’t go into Tate Modern and think damn, if only that Dali was cheaper. Like Dali, Banksy originals are way out of my league.
Anyway enough about all that, what’s there to see? Well about 15 canvasses, many just classic stencils such as ‘Laugh Now’ and ‘Rude Copper’ on plain white backgrounds and around double the number of screenprints. It’s a good place to go if you haven’t seen any of this stuff before.
If you like Banksy’s work though its just methadone while you wait for the next street fix.
A few more pictures tomorrow….
