Battersea Power Station Redevelopment – then and now pictures

Battersea Power Station has finally fully reopened just shy of 40 years after it closed in 1983. Up to the mid 2000’s it became increasingly derelict as scheme after scheme for its redevelopment was rejected or failed. Back in 2006, in one of its last public appearances before it closed, the Serpentine Gallery staged an exhibition of contemporary Chinese art in its shattered shell. I took the opportunity to not only look at the art but the building itself in its advanced state of decay. Now it’s reopened I’ve once again taken the opportunity to return and record the changes between then and now.
