A trip on a 1938 art deco style tube train under Heathrow

London Transport Museum Heritage run, 11th August 2024.

The 1938 Stock Tube train was an innovative design that saw all of the electrical equipment move from taking space in the carriage to underneath the floor. Despite their age there’s much that is familiar to older travellers. The four carriage train looks resplendent in its bright red livery and I was lucky enough to have a ticket granting access to the driving car for its Heathrow Loop journey departing from Northfields. Keep an eye out on the London Transport Museum for more trips in the future.
