PWEI at the Fighting Cocks, Kingston

POP WILL EAT ITSELF – Fighting Cocks, Kingston. Thursday 9 October 2025

This PWEI launch gig for ‘Delete Everything’ at the Fighting Cocks, Kingston sold out just about instantly when it was announced, a decision not lost on singer Mary Byker. ‘Next time put us in the bigger place’ he quipped to Jon Tolley of Banquet Records. It was part tongue in cheek, could PWEI sell the Circuit venue out midweek? Who knows, but this was a packed out and bouncing gig that will love long in the memory. The set included all the classics – Wise Up Sucker, Deaf Con One, PWEIization along with several tracks from the new album which blended in nicely – the Senser’esque ‘Incarcerate The Rich’, Never Mind The Botox (see what they did there?) and the aptly titled ‘Play a Fast ‘Un (crazy changes throughout).

Catch the Poppies on patrol in the UK throughout October and November.
