Dotmasters / Slinkachu shows
A couple of new upcoming shows that dropped into the inbox yesterday. First up is street art stalwart Dotmasters. With a career stretching over 10 years its somehow odd that maybe his most recognisable pieces are bags of rubbish but these super detailed gems are well worthy of your attention. ‘High Class Trash’ is on at the Graffik Gallery with a preview on Thursday 13th September – The first 13 visitors to the show on this date will be rewarded with a limited hand finished six colour silk screen print, a release of only 13. Which is nice.
It’s fair to say that photographing little models in the urban environment was not invented by Slinkachu but to my eye nobody does it better. His books have been a steady seller for a few years now and with every show he raises his game further. I’m guessing from the name of the show that this time he and his little people have gone abroad on their travels and I’m really looking forward to seeing this one at Andipa Contemporary. A new book ‘Global Model Village’ will be on sale as will limited edition prints and bespoke installations. London gets to see it first starting from a private view on Wednesday 26th September before moving to New York on Tuesday 2nd October.
