Blockhead sculpture Tate Modern by Paul McCarthy. On display until October 26th 2003 'Blockhead' stands 115ft tall. Designed by American artist Paul McCarthy inside its bulk is a steel frame - and a place where you could buy black sticks of rock inscribed with 'Blockhead' for three pounds fifty! Loosely based on Pinocchio the sculpture sits on a pile of books and has the elongated nose you would expect.
